Thomas Holmes - Registered Psychologist and Clinical Supervisor serving St. Albert, Morinville, and Edmonton

Thomas Holmes

Registered Psychologist & Clinical Supervisor

15+ years in education & wellness. Advocates for culturally sensitive care, especially for First Nations communities.

High energy, warm, and delightfully pragmatic, Thomas brings over 20 years of experience in education and wellness to the therapy room (including a past nod as a Top 40 Under 40 in Edmonton for his promotion of mental health in education!). He is a staunch advocate for culturally sensitive care—particularly for First Nations communities—and isn't afraid to be direct while cheering you on.

Thomas is deeply passionate about ensuring First Nations communities in northern Alberta have access to quality mental health care. He has extensive experience providing essential health services, crisis counselling, and specialized assessments (including FASD and ASD) to remote Indigenous communities. In this work, he actively champions a "two-eyed seeing" approach, which integrates Indigenous ways of knowing and healing alongside Western methodologies.

Beyond his community work, Thomas's background is deeply rooted in education and organizational wellness. He has served as an inclusive education teacher, school counsellor, principal, and associate superintendent, and he has been a sessional instructor at the University of Alberta. He draws heavily on this background to provide and supervise expert psycho-educational assessments for children and adults. He also routinely provides professional development speaking engagements focused on workplace safety and organizational health.

Thomas handles a massive variety of complex clinical needs and has extensive experience working with youth and adults with developmental disabilities. This specialized focus dates back to his graduate work, which centered on supporting individuals with developmental disabilities as they manage grief and loss. His broader clinical wheelhouse spans high-conflict divorce and co-parenting, anxiety, depression, domestic violence, phobias, PTSD, mood disorders, and men's health. At Mind360, he not only sees clients but also provides crucial clinical supervision and support to new therapists.
